What is the School Mushroom Programme?
In the framework of the School Mushroom Programme, we help to familiarise students with various types of cultivated mushrooms by delivering crates of phase 4 raw materials for growing.
In the case of button mushrooms, the boxes are best stored in a cooler spot (below 20°C), such as a cellar, although classrooms and corridors are also suitable, providing the boxes are watered more frequently.
To support the practical teaching, we have produced a series of posters that provide a clear and accessible introduction to mushroom cultivation, a short manual for teachers containing both theoretical and practical tasks, and a longer, playful workbook that can also be used in the teaching of nature studies, biology, or technology.
Awards
In 2021, the School Mushroom Programme won the Hungarian corporate social responsibility award CSR Hungary in the Junior category, and also earned a special award from Trade Magazin.
